THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE TO MANAGE AND EXPLOIT ENERGY

Description:

Energy storage is a technology with great potential due to its capacity to contribute to the deployment of renewable energies, improve the energy efficiency of buildings and industry, improve the operability of the electricity grid and reuse the waste heat from industry. It therefore also has great potential for job creation.

ALMATER aims to be a network of universities, companies and administration with knowledge and capacity in the implementation and promotion of projects in which the storage of thermal energy.
Researchers from the University of Lleida and University of La Rioja participate in this consortium.

Research lines:

  • Energy storage
  • Energy and buildings. Decreased thermal demand in buildings
  • Recycling, by-product recovery, waste inerting
  • Construction materials and waste recovery
  • Energy and building modelling , thermal modelling, low temperature energy storage
  • Energy storage through cement
  • Urban Heat Islands
