As president of the Campus Iberus consortium, it is an honour to speak on behalf of this strategic alliance, which since 2010 has brought together the universities of Zaragoza, Public University of Navarre, La Rioja and Lleida. More than just a project, we are a living commitment to the region and the people who live there.
In a world marked by global challenges—from climate change to digital transformation—cooperation is not just an option, but a necessity. Universities have a responsibility to lead this change in a united manner, connecting regions, generating opportunities, and ensuring that no talent is left behind due to a lack of resources or proximity.
Year after year, Campus Iberus has demonstrated that together we are more capable: we attract international talent, participate in European projects of excellence and offer our students an education enriched by mobility and exchange. But we do not want to just look at what we have achieved; we want to build on it.
In this new phase, I am committed to promoting even closer collaboration with regional governments, institutions and the private sector, so that we can anticipate changes and become a benchmark in open innovation, sustainability and social cohesion. Promoting internationalisation is another of our duties, and we will work in this direction to build bridges with other European and Latin American universities.
We want Campus Iberus to be synonymous with a useful university: one that educates, researches and transfers knowledge, but above all, one that transforms. One that encourages entrepreneurship, values culture and works every day towards a fairer, better prepared and more connected society.
We will continue to build networks, bring people together and open new paths. Because by sharing knowledge, we will become more competitive.
Rosa Bolea
President of Campus Iberus
