Campus Iberus became a reality on 21 May 2012, when the Consortium Campus Iberus was constituted. Campus Iberus is born with an international vision, firmly rooted in its society and strongly committed to its development. It has been constructed as a focal point for culture, a promoter of thinking and a driver of economic progress and is organized as a permanent area for change and exchange where science, culture and technology are encouraged.
In Campus Iberus we are following a path that:
- Will allow us to overcome the well-known fragmentation of higher education and regional limitations, by aggregating four universities and exceeding the geographical and administrative limits of four autonomous communities
- Through the selection of the areas of specialization, will allow it to claim international relevance, with well-defined scientific goals and actions on the cutting edge of knowledge relevant to some the main issues mankind faces: sustainable energy, technology applied to public health, food and nutrition and the preservation of the cultural heritage.
- Strengthens links with the productive sector, involving companies, organizations and society as a whole in the process, sharing objectives and planning and building together the scientific, educational, innovation and social integration design that constitute the triple mission of a modern university.
- Places people at the centre of the learning process and, consequently, offers an integrative education designed to meet people’s various needs through life, an education oriented to employability that also promotes the formation of responsible citizens.
