New horizon: Asia.
Along with aggregation and specialization, internalization is one of the strategic axes on which Campus Iberus project is built. Internalization is understood as a transversal axe to the different areas of Campus Iberus activities, such as training, research and innovation and transference.
In Asia, Campus Iberus International Relations Committee decided to start up a particular line of work in China, taking advantage of the existing relations between universities in China and Spain. It is essential for a Campus of International Excellence as Iberus to establish contact and agreements with the best universities, research centres and companies to develop projects of common interest. China is growing fast economically and it has a clear internalization strategy of its universities. This represents a clear opportunity for Campus Iberus, for the development of different actions in cooperation with universities in China, on both, training and mobility issues, and developing innovation, entrepreneurship or research projects.
Thus, it was considered the opportunity of an expansion of Campus Iberus visibility beyond the European framework, wherein it has already been developing some actions for the last few years, and diversifies on both Latin America (with the plan Training at Colombia) and Asia. Given the economic potential in China and the Spanish and European economic scenario, it was considered that Asia, and especially China, might offer interesting experiences and possibilities to Iberus. For this reason, the possibility of undertake actions of mobility, research and exchange with universities in China was raised in Campus Iberus.
