Bio-Based Industries Consortium
The Bio-Based Industries Consortium (BIC) is a non-profit international body based in Brussels, and stablished by the European Commission in 2012. BIC, representing the private sector within Bio-based Industries, constitutes a unique combination of sectors which include agriculture and agro-food, forestry, pulp and paper, chemicals, energy and technology providers.
With nearly 200 members throughout the continent – including large companies, SMEs,technology platforms, SME and business clusters, RTOs, universities and associations – the Bio-Based Industries Consortium represents an important and multidisciplinary Bio-based Industry on a European and global level, in which all its industrial members are committed to invest resources for collaborative research, development and demonstration of technologies in cooperation with other members of the consortium.
Since January 1st 2016, Campus Iberus is a member of Bio-Based Industries Consortium boosting its international research dimension in one of the strategic areas of the Campus specialization, facilitating its universities involvement in European projects of R&D&I in cooperation with European and International institutions of excellence.
