Occupational Health and Safety
The concept of excellence in the campuses implies the application of safety methods and procedures in teaching and research activities, as well as the continuous improvement of safety, ergonomics and safety and health at work, in premises, facilities and processes. All this should be complemented with the transmission to students of experiences of good practices in a safe and healthy university environment, as the necessary means to make progress in establishing a prevention culture.
Occupational hazard prevention is an ethical, legal and social obligation that must be integrated into all the activities and at all hierarchical levels of the universities of Campus Iberus, as one more area of modernization and improvement. Moreover, the role of universities in the transmission of knowledge, allows them to contribute to the dissemination of a prevention culture among the future generations of university educated professionals who will one day hold leading positions in all sectors of society.
Campus Iberus is committed to creating a Risk Prevention Unit, that will deal with health and safety and work, ergonomics, and “heart healthy campuses”. Its mission will be:
- Coordinating the Risk Prevention Units
- Promoting a prevention culture in Campus Iberus to achieve a safe and pleasant working environment
- Improving health and safety at work, through the application of safety methods and procedures to eliminate or minimize hazards
